Hi, writers!

And thank you for inviting me to your blog, where I hope you'll be very comfortable "thinking through" this course together.

I think you can revise your name and design if you want a more personalized title -- as you like!

Jealous?

Why are you jealous? Yes maybe we are a little addicted to our gadgets. Maybe we should learn to learn put a little distance between our hands and ours phone, but I would not say I was jealous. The older generation didn't have it 'better'. With out new technology we can communicate across the world by typing in seven numbers. We can make connections with families memebers when they're away. Calling for an emergancy is so much easier now. Dial three numbers and they can track your phone to locate you. Phones now have built in GPS, so we can find the places we need to get to faster. Not only does it say how to get to your location it also tells you how long it will take you to get there and the estimated time off arrival. Technology has helped us more that hurt us.

An app

I agree that an app that lets you say something profound would be mind blowing and whoever invents an app like that will be a bazillionaire. However, everyone nowadays has some kind of smart-device but i would not like to live in a world where people have to use apps to say something because that would mean that part of our society will be controlled by technology and would be very boring.

1. “Given the proclivity of the younger generations to text rather than talk to one another, I am waiting for the app that lets you say something truly radical with your iPhone, iPad ( or other device) .. use the app to talk to somebody. Whoever invents this one will make a bazillion dollars.”

I disagree with the statement that developing a new way to talk to each other utilizing a phone is going to be a resourceful and profitable application. The ability to talk using a phone has been been developed for years and is already a great technology. The preference to text instead of talking is just another tool the younger generation uses to streamline their communication.

1.) I do not want society to get to the point to where people don't talk to each other at all. I only use a cell phone and a lap top. I still have to maintain contact in everyday life in person or at least over the phone. I am not a fan of how dependent people in today's society have become on technology.
